Farm animal welfare matters. It shines a spotlight on our values and ethics. The same is taught as part of the religious norms that animals should be treated humanely.

Every animal can experience physical and mental suffering and contentment. As a human being we are responsible for determining what sort of lives our farm animals will live. 

It is common to see animal welfare sacrificed over high profits.

Ethical farming places a strong emphasis on the well-being of animals and their treatment. In contrast to conventional industrial dairy farming, where animals are often subjected unsanitary and over populated conditions, ethical dairy farming prioritizes humane treatment and improved living conditions. In addition, the animals raised in ethical farms are not subjected to growth hormones or antibiotics, thus minimizing their exposure to potential health risks. This means a healthier product for the customer.

Historically, male calves have been considered unsuitable for beef production. It is common for the young male cows to be killed immediately after birth or soon after. This practice is seen all over the world including Pakistan. The reason for this is that it is cheaper to kill and dispose of a male calf than it is to rear them. On average it costs 130-180 thousand Rupees (400-600 USD) to rear a calf.

We set ourselves apart by rearing the male calves for at least for 2 years until they can be given to a local farmer for breeding purposes or sold into the meat market. Though it is very costly and impacts some of the profits, we do not support our young male cows being sold into the veal industry. The aim of raising young stock is to find the best way to raise a healthy calf so that they can live happy life. We believe in quality over quantity and you will taste this in our products.
